#1. Self Control -

This free application, which you can download on your computer, allows you to shut down specific periods of time up to 24 hours. I specifically use it to block facebook and Hulu.

#2. Mindnode

So I didn’t download this due to the fact that it is 10 dollars. So mind node is a way to map out ideas and plan ahead of time! It allows a person to create an outline and shows how the topics correspond with one another. I noticed that it has great ratings and I believe that I will be downloading it myself.

#3. Dragon Dictation -

Overall I like this app a lot. It is free which is always nice and some of the pros include large font and its ability to translate names. Overall, the application is fairly good at copying word for word what someone or yourself has said but it is not perfect. It does confuse words and sometimes you will find that even thought you said one thing, it will end up writing something else. My advice is to use this app for short thoughts or sentences. I would not suggest using this app to translate entire lectures.

#4. Audio Notes -

This application allows you to take audio notes while writing the notes you choose to. The audio is very good and it tracks exactly where you took the note in the lecture. It is about five dollars but worth it if you can type fast on your phone or have an iPad with a keyboard. It also allows you to take pictures during the lecture and inputs it in your notes. This app combines what the teacher is saying, your written notes, and pictures you can take of the whiteboard all together. I personally like it because it keeps me focused on my notes but allows me to replay what the teacher is saying.

#5. Smart Pen

My friend has this pen and has nothing but good things to say about this. This pen records lectures while you take notes. It is kind of like audio note but in pen form! If you tap on a word on your page it will replay the audio from that specific point. The other cool thing about this pen is that when connected to the internet it will transfer your notes over to your computer so you don’t have to worry about loosing your paper notes!

#6. My Script Calculator

So I personally have trouble using a calculator and I have a lot of dyslexic friends who do as well! I love this app. It allows you to use your finger to write out an equation then will solve the problem just like a calculator!

#7. ADHD Angel

So I am in love with this application. The ADHD Angel is a way to not only a way to keep track of medication but so much more. You can set a daily timer and track exactly when you take your meds. It shows you ways to explain ADHD in a way that normal individuals can understand. It also allows you to create a daily rating that asks you how you are feeling, asks you an important question involving your mood and how you are interacting with other. It also allows you to reflect on the

ratings. Along with the daily rating’s, there is also a

full ratings prior to doctors visits questionnaire. The other thing that I like about this app is that your parents can also download this app and set reminders and track weather or not you have taken your medication!

#8. Myhomework

So this app is all about helping you stay on track with your homework. It is available for the iPhone, iPad, Android, Kindle Fire and on the internet. It is very simple to program your class schedule and homework assignments into this app which will also track when you have finished an assignment and if it was late or on time. If your teachers use this as well, they can sink class announcements to the class as well. I can be downloaded on a phone or you can set up an account on their website!

#9. Quizlet

So I love this app. It is an online note card maker where you can crate terms/questions on one side and definitions/answers on the back. It creates tests that you can take and has games that relate to your notecard set. It is easy to share with others so it is a great study tool for entire classes. You can also print out your terms  so you can study on the go!

#10. Educreation

This app allows you to use your finger to draw and records audio. I personally use this app when I am trying to learn the process of math problems. I start completing the equation and talk out my thought process. If I get the problem right it is a perfect way to review the process if I get stuck on another problem. I also show the recordings to my teacher so they can see exactly what I was thinking the moment I did something, which allows them to identify the step that I am confused about or clarify what I am suppose to do instead.
